Nur ein erster Test - und der schaut schon mal ganz nett aus. Der Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 1,00 GHz lag bei 479 Punkten. Allerdings hat der Crusoe schon 'n knappes Halbes GB RAM und Windows XP - und der Efficeon nur 'n Viertel GB RAM und dafür 'n altes Linucks. Ein Test-Bench vom Crusoe unter grml schlug fehl, da der Linux-Build von Geekbench 2.1 SSE braucht, während der Windows-Build auch ohne SSE funktioniert. Und der Crusoe hat leider kein SSE. Aber Windows XP ist ja schnell installiert

WOW dann war der so kacke ja nicht, liegt zwischen 1 Ghz Duron und 1 Ghz P III - preislich war er auch günstiger, hat man damals also sicher nix falsch gemacht - hatte der sogar nicht schon NX Bit etc?

Das NX-Bit gab's wimre erst bei den 90-nm-Varianten TM8800 und TM8820, nicht aber bei der 130-nm-Ausführung TM8600/TM8620.

Siehe Edit: Hat erst der TM8800, der TM8600 hats noch nicht. Und Windows 10 will ich da eher nicht drauf versuchen. Bei 256 MB RAM wird das sehr dünn. Muss mal schauen, wieviel das Notebook überhaupt verträgt - lt. Transmeta kann der TM8600 wohl bis zu 4 GB DDR-333 vertragen.

Wenn der die x86-Prozessorarchitektur emuliert, dann bringen 4 GiB RAM nur was mit memory remapping. Ohne memory remapping dürften 3 GiB sinnvoller sein. Und in Verbindung mit einer Ati Radeon AGP könnte schon bei 2,75 GiB RAM Schluss sein, da diese Grafikkarten ihren Adressbereich oft bei 2,75 GiB einblenden. Mit 3+ GiB RAM (ohne memory remapping) läuft so ein System nach meiner Erfahrung instabil.
Das ist nur das, was Transmeta angibt - das hießt ja nicht, dass das Mainboard das auch kann. Außerdem habe ich wimre auch keine 2-GB-DDR-SO-DIMMs hier, nur 1-GB-DDR-SO-DIMMs. Also wäre praktisch bei mir eh bei 2 GB schluss, die ich testen könnte.
Grafik-seitig ist auch keine ATi-Grafik verbaut, sondern eine XGI Volari XP5, mal schauen, wie die performt.
die XGI hatte ich damals als AGP Karte in nem Kunden Pc - liegt auf dem Niveau einer ATI Radeon 9100/9200 PSX Emulation ging damit sogar ganz gut hatte glaub 128 MB das Teil im Notebook wirds wohl bloß 32/64 sein
