It’s hard to piece the exact timeline together, but Windows/386 appears to have been released before Windows 2.0. The Windows/386 release is labeled 2.01 and is dated September 1987. The only version of Windows 2.0 I know of that didn’t have a /286 or /386 suffix is labeled 2.03 and the files are dated November 1987.
