geekbench ist sowieso komisch, nutzt nicht alle cores, hab unter linux 4700 ca (pi mal daumen), und windows 4100 bei 3,5ghz..

Das Teil ist empfindlich wie Sau.. auch bei Diensten.. jetzt einfach mal alles ausgemacht was ging -> 4800 Punkte, sonst nur 4100..

Das dürfte meinen schwachen Score unter 10.4 erklären, da hat er schon im Idle zu viel zu schuften..

Und ja, man könnte sich mal kollektiv an den Hersteller wenden. Die Grundidee „ich vergleich meinen neuen Mac mit meinem alten PC und der Monsterkiste an Solaris-Server auf Arbeit“ ist an sich ja ganz knuffig, aber dass ein Rechner am Ende unter einem blanken 64-Bit-Linux schlechter dasteht als unter Vista x86, wo noch ein Shitload an Diensten und Hintergrundprogrammen läuft, kann ja auch nicht sein. Ganz abgesehen von Dual-CPU-Unterstützung – die ganzen Leute in Blau können das belegen.

Ist ja interessant! Bisher gibts noch keinen "Einkerner", der einen "Zweikerner" eingeholt hätte (ok, wie auch ). Bin ja auch mal gespannt, ob es da draußen einen Einkerner gibt, der mal die 2000 Punkte-Marke überschreitet.. Aber dazu bräuchte ich wahrscheinlich nur ein Linux auf mein Pentium 4-System aufzuspielen und den P4 560 (oder den hoffentlich bald kommenden 670) einzulegen ..
Btw: Hat Linux eigentlich auch das "Problem" mit dem Hyper Threading wie es Windows (XP) hat? -

Das man mit Geekbench ernsthaft Crossplattform Vergleiche machen kann, ist eine Illusion. Und die Bude schreibt das ja auch explizit hin: "Compare apples and oranges. Or Macs and PCs. "Schussendlich läuft Geekbench mit der Leistung, die ein normales Spiel oder Programm auch zu Verfügung gestellt bekommt, wenn es nur 10 Sekunden am Stück viel Leistung braucht. Kein normales Programm verhält sich so wie Geekbench.
Und selbst wenn: Die zu Verfügung stehende Leistung ist von tausend Faktoren abhängig, die nichts mit der Hardware zu tun haben: laufende Services, Compiler-Flags, Softwareversionen, Treiber. Alles mögliche.
Vergleichswerte sind nicht machbar. Nicht mal wenn wir nen vorkompiliertes Live-Linux rausgeben würden nach wie vor manche Rechner benachteiligt sein, wegen irgendwelchen Compile-Flags, Kernel-Treiber für den USB-Bus o.ä.
